Impermanence

This is a place for me to post daily images - very few of these are final images, meaning there is almost always more work to be done. Final Images are here.

slow

Not having a dslr (fancy camera) to shoot with lately has been slowing me down, sorry about the mediocre output here. I see so many things to shoot, and yet they just won't come through with a point and shoot. Nikon says I’ll have my new camera soon, middle of November, which I’m very excited about.
I'm off on travel again, tomorrow, so expect nothing for a week. Then I'll be home for a bit, and then I'll have an amazing amount of time to shoot photos and maybe even start typing, that is if the snow doesn't get in the way.

More Siddhartha

"When someone is searching," said Siddhartha, "then it might easily happen that the only thing his eyes still see is that what he searches for, that he is unable to find anything, to let anything enter his mind, because he always thinks of nothing but the object of his search, because he has a goal, because he is obsessed by the goal. Searching means: having a goal. But finding means: being free, being open, having no goal. You, oh venerable one, are perhaps indeed a searcher, because, striving for your goal, there are many things you don't see, which are directly in front of your eyes."

----------

"The words are not good for the secret meaning, everything always becomes a bit different, as soon as it is put into words, gets distorted a bit, a bit silly--yes, and this is also very good, and I like it a lot, I also very much agree with this, that this what is one man's treasure and wisdom always sounds like foolishness to another person."

Go see my photos

I have some photos hanging at Cloud City Coffee.

I had different visions of the unframed wall, but I'm really not the kind of cluttered guy who can just hang stuff, so I allowed a lesbian to organize it all.

Go get a cup of coffee and look at the photos and pretend you haven't seen them before.
Tell a barista how much you like the photos.

there is no time

"It is this what you mean, isn't it: that the river is everywhere at once, at the source and at the mouth, at the waterfall, at the ferry, at the rapids, in the sea, in the mountains, everywhere at once, and that there is only the present time for it, not the shadow of the past, not the shadow of the future?"

apples

I bought several trees from a nursery as bare root trees, I put them in the ground, and it grew! It's simple, it's how it's supposed to work, I'm still amazed. When the guy helped me pick them out, I joked that I'd be eating apple pies made from that apples from the tree in a few months, and the guy said that it would be more like two or three years before that would happen. But I ate an apple form my tree today, it was great; tart and fragrant and crisp and amazing.
I remember that day, picking out the trees, picking out the strawberries, joking around with the people, smiling and coming home and putting the trees in the ground. I've eaten some strawberries this year, Bella pounced on a bunch of strawberries, but things grow. Things change over time, grow over time, die over time, they come back to life, they fall apart, sometiems they sprout and grow apples, sometimes they just grow leaves, and we are all where we are.
